The domestic airline of the United States, JetBlue Airways provides passengers with its extra flights from Boston to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic which is effective since 19th June 2009. JetBlue Airways will carry out these extra non stop flights three days per week that is: on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. JetBlue Airways will operate extra flights so as to expand to daily service over the peak winter season. JetBlue Airways from Boston to Dominican Republic is being the carrier of choice for Hub travellers, whether they are headed to the Caribbean or any one of the two-dozen non stop destinations across the United States, says the airline’s vice president of network planning. JetBlue Airways will begin to operate scheduled low cost air service between Boston and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

The airline based in Lisbon, Tap Portugal is considered to be the first airline to begin a program of Carbon Compensation which was developed by IATA. Tap Portugal commemorated on the 5th June 2009 on the World Environment Day launched the program to compensate for carbon dioxide (CO2) in partnership with IATA (International Air Transport Association). Tap Portugal in partnership with IATA offers to its passengers the chance to compensate CO2 emissions generated during their trips and contribute, by adhering to the program.
The Carbon compensation program of TAP Portugal is the first to be launched globally in association with IATA has developed a comprehensive program for the airline industry by proposing reliable and clear projects. The website of Tap Portugal makes accessible all information relating to the amount of CO2 emitted per passenger per flight.
The compensation scheme developed by IATA calculates carbon emissions based on a methodology developed by the Organisation (ICAO International Civil Aviation). IATA runs the program to compensate the carbon of Tap Portugal. Tap Portugal program of Carbon compensation by IATA advises in the selection of projects and purchase carbon credits.

The low cost airline based in Kuala Lumpur is offering promotional flights from the United Kingdom to Tawau and K.Kinabulu as from £11. In addition Air Asia is also proposing promotional flights to Phuket and Krabi as from £15, to Bali and Manado as from £19 and to Clark as from £25. Air Asia discounted fares to Phuket and Krabi and the promotional flight to the other destination should already be booked between 16th June 2009 and 21st June 2009 to travel between 6th July 2009 and 30th September.
