The airline based in Vienna, Austrian Airlines announced that it was taken over by Lufthansa, the airline based in Germany by going through a contract with the Deutsche Lufthansa AG. Austrian Airlines takeover by Lufthansa, moreover the final validation will be declared in August 2009 or by September 2009. As an associate of Lufthansa, the financial source of Austrian Airlines will improve in the long term. Through the agreement with Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines will have the right to use the international destinations and sales network of Lufthansa. By taking over the Lufthansa Group, Austrian Airlines will be able to reform itself and improve its level of competitiveness.
