The airline based in Malaysia, Malaysia Airlines and the national airline of Sri Lanka, SriLankan Airlines announced the extension of their code share agreement since the 22nd June 2009. The code share agreement enhances the ancient code share partnership, signifying a rise of the close collaboration between Malaysia Airlines and SriLankan Airlines. This code share agreement will provide the passengers with easy access to the Maldives said the Malaysia Airlines General Manager, Government & Industry Relations. Both Malaysia Airlines and SriLankan Airlines have a history of winning global accolades for service, and Malaysia Airlines code share agreement SriLankan Airlines will be of mutual benefit to both Malaysia Airlines and SriLankan Airlines, and most importantly to the respective passengers said the SriLankan Airlines Head of Worldwide Sales. Members of the frequent flyer programmes of the two airlines, Malaysia Airlines Enrich and SriLankan FlySmiLes can also earn and trade in points on flights of both Malaysia Airlines and SriLankan Airlines.
