Lufthansa Germanwings integrates more within his group. Eurowings has sold its subsidiary in the German company, Germanwings. However it will help Eurowings to strengthen its regional focus and Lufthansa to develop low-cost model within the group. Germanwings is a 100% subsidiary of Eurowings, itself owned 49% by Lufthansa, which is partner in Lufthansa Regional. From the 1st of January 2009, Germanwings will operate a uniform fleet of twenty-five airbus A319.

Since 2nd December 2008, the company Aeroflot Russian airlines has purchased its twenty-third airbus A320. The fleet of Aeroflot Russian airlines currently has 44 aircrafts in the airbus family including A319, A320 and A321. Aeroflot airlines will receive another 18 new airbus A320s in 2009. The airbus A320 will operate in Europe as well as in domestic areas in Russia.
