SkyEurope lessen its fleet from 15 to 5 aircrafts

The low cost airline with its main base in Bratislava, Slovakia, SkyEurope acknowledged that it has lessened its fleet from 15 aircrafts to 5 aircrafts since late 2008. The fleet of SkyEurope has been cut by two thirds. The airline SkyEurope was forced to make six aircrafts to a leasing company on the basis of mutual agreement. The CEO of SkyEurope, Jason Bitter said that the airline continues all its operations so as to dispel doubts about the ability of the company. However SkyEurope has been operating for 6 years and yet the company listed in Vienna and Warsaw has never reached a profit. On the last Fiscal year ending 30th September 2008, SkyEurope posted a loss of 59.4 million.

Vueling December 2008 load factor

The low fare airline based in Barcelona, Spain, Vueling has published its December 2008 load factor. The December load factor shows that there has been an increased compare to the year 2007. In December 2008 Vueling load factor was 71% whereas in December 2007 Vueling load factor was 63, 7%. As a result there has been an increase of 7, 4%. Thus in the year 2008, Vueling has reduced its costs and has withdrawn the non-profitable flights. However in 2008 Vueling has operated 3262 flights with 16 aircrafts whereas in 2007 Vueling has operated 4628 flights with 24 aircrafts. Nevertheless Vueling has been profitable the previous four months.
