The Latvian airline, Air Baltic announced its passenger record for July 2009, thus 5% more than that of July 2008. Air Baltic passenger record July 2009 departing from its hub in Riga rose by 31%. Air Baltic transported 296,754 passengers in July 2009 from Riga and Vilnius which resulted in a load factor of 76.51% on July 2009 that is 6.2% increase compared to its load factor in July 2008. Moreover, Air Baltic operated 5% fewer flights in July 2009 compared to July 2008, which was of 4,623 flights and is now at 4,387 flights.

WestJet, the low-cost airline based in Calgary, proclaimed its load factor for July 2009. WestJet July 2009 load factor shows a decrease of 3.3 points compared to the same period last year. In 2008, WestJet traffic was of 79.9% whereas this year 2009 the traffic is of 76.4%. The load factor of July 2009 for WestJet also illustrates a decrease of 0.4% for the available seat miles and a reduction of 4.5% for the revenue passenger miles of WestJet.  Moreover WestJet launched in July 2009 various new destinations such as Varadero, Holguin, Cayo Coco, Cuba, Ixtapa,Cozumel, Mexico, St. Martin/St. Maarten, Turks, Caicos, Freeport, Bahamas, Lihue (Kauai), Hawaii, Miami, Florida, Atlantic City and New Jersey.
