The airline based in Canada, Air Canada announced approval by the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) to form a Transatlantic Alliance with Continental Airlines, Lufthansa and United Airlines since 10th July 2009. Air Canada Transatlantic Alliance with Continental Airlines Lufthansa United Airlines will offer to Air Canada passengers to benefit from more options between Canada and Europe, Africa, the Middle East, India, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Western Russia. This Transatlantic Alliance with Continental Airlines, Lufthansa and United Airlines will help to expand an integrated joint venture and build up the Transatlantic association.
