Carriers based in United Kingdom and India, British Airways and Kingfisher Airlines respectively have signed a code share agreement. British Airways code share Kingfisher Airlines will come into effect as from 15th September 2010. The new agreement will allow both British Airways and Kingfisher Airlines to code share flights across Sri Lanka, United Kingdom, India and continental Europe.  This new code share will allow British Airways to place its code on 11 domestic flights of Kingfisher Airlines and also on the route to Sri Lanka.  British Airways will code share flights of Kingfisher Airlines from Bangalore to Chennai from Coimbatore to Kochi from Chennai to Coimbatore and Colombo from Delhi to Bangalore and Kolkata from Mumbai to Bangalore, Chennai, Goa, Hyderabad and Kolkata. On the other hand, Kingfisher Airlines will place its code on 9 of British Airways flights from London Heathrow to regions across United Kingdom and also across the continental Europe.  Kingfisher Airlines will place its code on flights operated by British Airways from London Heathrow to Aberdeen, Edinburg, Glasgow, Manchester, Amsterdam, Brussels, Dusseldorf, Lisbon and Paris. Furthermore, the new code share will allow both passengers of either British Airways or Kingfisher Airlines to earn miles on the routes that will be code shared and also access to airport lounges of either carrier’s.  The code share flights are on sale since yesterday, 7th September 2010.  To recall, Air Valid helps passengers with luggage British Airways thus making passengers know how much weight and bags they are entitled to on different flights and in different cabins.
