The carrier based in Bangkok, Bangkok Airways crashes Samui Airport by colliding with the former control tower on board of its ATR 72-500. The crash ATR 72-500 Bangkok Airways took place on the 4th August 2009. The ATR 72-500 of the Bangkok Airways flight PG 266 was operating the route between Krabi and Samui Airport. Moreover the flight PG 266 of Bangkok Airways was operating with 68 passengers, 2 flight attendants and 2 pilots. In addition passengers of Bangkok Airways are being assisted by the team of Bangkok Airways. Due to the flight PG 266 crash of Bangkok Airways four passengers are badly injured, two passengers are with minor injuries and one pilot lost his life.

The airline based in Roissy, Air France and Bangkok Airways the regional airline based in Bangkok has signed a code share agreement which will be effective as from 1st July 2009. Air France code share agreement Bangkok Airways will give the chance to both passengers flying with Air France and Bangkok Airways to travel to six new destinations in Thailand, Cambodia and Laos under flight number “AF” Phuket, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui and Trat (Thailand), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Luang Prabang (Laos). In other words these flights will be proposed to the customers of Air France which will be operated by the aircrafts of Bangkok Airways where their schedule will provide quick connections with long haul flights daily with Air France between Paris CDG and Bangkok.
